Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Customer Review

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Customer Review
Samsung announced its latest android phone Galaxy S II skyrocket, which is an extension of its most successful android phone Galaxy S II. With stunning looks and features, this one has a lot more to offer. In case of looks and hardware specification, skyrocket is exactly same as Galaxy S II, but there are two major differences between these two smart phones. Both cell phones will have the capability to enhance functionality by a cell phone signal booster.
Skyrocket was announced with the announcement of HTC vivid in the market and is among the first LTE network enabled smart phone. It supports AT&T’s and all new LTE network. It is a welcome addition to the U.S. Samsung Galaxy S II line up. The only feature added is the LTE feature.
Galaxy S II was quite appreciated worldwide for its looked and features it gave at that price and that is why the design and hardware was reserved with this edition too.
The first difference between skyrocket and Galaxy S II is that Skyrocket doesn’t have NFC connectivity besides possessing the capability. The second difference is the LTE on board. It can quite efficiently work with 4G networks as long as you are in a good reception zone; otherwise you need a cell phone data booster. Booster is not only meant for those phones which are used in low signal reception areas but also to enhance the quality of data usage on smart phones. Smart features are best experienced with use of cell phone repeater.

Business specialists have already declared the phone a super hit even before its launch

7 Ways To Increase Your Mobile Battery Life

Tip 1: Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc.
It happens a lot of times that after transferring a file via Bluetooth we forget to switch it off. So when you are not using it for any purpose it is wise to turn off Wi-Fi , Bluetooth and even Infrared on your mobile. These continuously draw power from your battery hence reducing its life.
Tip 2: Decrease brightness of the display
If you have an option to decrease the brightness of the display then choose a level which has medium brightness and not too high. Nokia’s smartphones light sensor helps adjust your display brightness according to the external lighting conditions, so keep it switched on at all times.
Also when running short of battery, do not waste battery by turning on the display for unnecessary purposes. Also when you know you will be away from a power source for a long time, reduce the brightness of the display to minimum.
Another handy tip is that you can reduce the time of back-light duration according to your need.

Tip 3: Disable vibration and ringtones

Vibrating alert is a feature that uses a whole lot of battery life, so disable it when you do not need it. It really sucks up battery life fast so do not use it when short of battery life.
Disabling ringtones in an emergency situation is recommended to save a bit of your battery life. Also use low volumes on the ringtones as the louder the ringtone, the shorter the battery life.

Tip 4: Close unwanted applications
In a smartphone various applications keep running in the background which utilize your phone resources which all use of your battery. So check for any unnecessary applications that might be running and terminate them. Music,videos,GPRS are very demanding on the battery so avoid using them when low of battery power.
Tip 5: Turn phone off when no network
When you are in an area where your mobile provider has no network or the place has cellphone jammers installed, switch off the phone. Your cellphone continuously searches for the signal which uses the battery very fast. This is applicable when you walk through long subway or drive in underground tunnels. If your phone has an offline mode, then use it to good effect in such a situation.
Tip 6: Charge and discharge tips
This one is very important in the long run. Many of us tend to charge the battery when it has been used only midway. This is not a healthy for the battery as more charge/discharge cycles on the battery means lower battery life. Charge the battery only when you are low on power. Also it is recommended to fully discharge the battery once a month to ensure its proper functioning.
Tip 7: Battery maintenance tips
It is important to take care of your battery. It is very important to keep your battery away from moisture as it can severely damage your battery. So take care of it in rainy season especially. Also do not bring it near high heat which is harmful for the battery.
When you do not intend to the use the phone for a few days then remove the battery and store it in a cool and dry place. Do not play around with the battery as a shock can render it useless.
These tips can go a long way to help you increase your battery life. Have any other tips? Go ahead and share them with us.

Nokia Secret Codes and Hacks

These codes for the Nokia series of phones provide some interesting information for users, they also unlock some hidden functions. These codes are often referred to as "Nokia Secret Codes" or "Nokia Hacks". Use the codes at your own risk, not all Nokia phones support all codes, I have tried to split them into these groups.
Nokia Secret Codes
These 3 codes work on 90% of Nokia phones;
*#06#n/aDisplay the IMEI (Standard GSM command, works on all phones)
*#0000#n/aDisplay the firmware version and date
*#92702689#*#war0anty#Here you can view the S/N and the IMEI as well as the life timer (newer models). The date the phone left the factory and the date it was purchased. If your phone has been repaired the date of the repair is also visible. You will need to turn the phone off to exit this menu. Newer phones simply require you to press ok.

The following codes are specific to older series 40 phones;  (Entering the following codes will restart the phone)
*4720#(*hra0#)Activates Half Rate, Half Rate is 5.6kbit/s and uses half the bandwidth at the cost of call quality. Network operators often activate half rate on overloaded towers during peak times to save costs.
#4720#(#hra0#)Deactivates Half Rate
*3370#(*efr0#)Activates Enhanced Full Rate, EFT attempts to match wire quality. The calls are 12.2kbit/s and are not supported by all operators. It is compatibale with the hightest AMR mode.
#3370#(#efr0#)Deactivates Enhanced Full Rate
*#746085685#(*#sim0clock#)Display the SIM clock status

The following codes are phone specific or phase related;

*#7220#(*#pca0#)Activate the GPRS PCCCH support (Packet Common Control Channel)
*#7230#(*#pcd0#)Deactivate the GPRS PCCCH support
*#7760#(*#ssn0#)Display the manufacturing serial number

This only works on the 3310 and 3330;

*#67705646#(*#opr0logo#)Clear the operator logo, the logo will be reset to the default network operator logo.

The following codes work on newer series 40 & series 60/80 phones;

*#2820#(*#bta0#)Display the Bluetooth MAC address (Phone must have a built in bluetooth adapter)
*#7370925538#(*#res0wallet#)Reset the mobile wallet (Phone must have the mobile wallet feature)
*#7370#(*#res0#)Soft-format the memory (Symbian)
*#7780#(*#rst0#)Reset to factory defaults, confirmation required (also known has a Hard-format), all phone contents will be wiped clean including contacts and smses if they are stored on the phone

Bonus Trick - Set off security alarms in shops
On Nokia phones which support closed user groups go to settings >security settings>user groups and change the group to 500, this will cause most theft detectors in stores to go off, incidentally setting the code to 00000 causes the phone to beep with older speed trap radars.
